Affordable Housing Performance

In 2010/11, the Council built 42 affordable homes.

Homeless Households in Temporary Accommodation

Currently, there are 35 households in temporary accommodation to which the Council owes a homeless duty (2010/11).  This number has declined since December 2004, when the Council had over 260 households in temporary accommodation who had been accepted as homeless.

Homeless Prevention

Broxbourne Council has only accepted four households as homeless in 2010/11. This is due to prevention and intervention work with households at risk of homelessness.  In 2010/11, over 200 homeless cases were prevented.

Housing Waiting Lists

On 1 April 2011, there were 3,100 households on the Council's housing waiting and transfer lists.

From 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011, 267 households were housed or rehoused in housing association accommodation.  The Council received over 22,000 expressions of interest in the properties it advertised as available to let through the Choice Based Lettings Scheme.
