Supporting People
Supporting People is a government programme that funds support
relating to housing. This is known as housing-related
support.
Housing-related support services aim to help people do things
for themselves so that they can continue living at home, rather
than go into hospital or residential care or risk becoming
homeless.
The programme can also help people to make the transition from
living in an institution to living independently.
Supporting People in Hertfordshire is administered by
Hertfordshire County Council and funds many services including
support to residents in sheltered housing for older people,
supported housing and some community alarm services.
