What is Quest?

The QUEST accreditation is the UK quality scheme for the sports and leisure industry and measures the delivery of a quality service. It is a tool for continuous improvement and helps demonstrate that a centre is performing well within industry standards, is implementing and following good practice and encourages ongoing development and delivery within a customer focused management framework.

Broxbourne Council Sports Centre Scores

Cheshunt Park Golf Centre was awarded a score of 'Good' in their two day Quest Plus assessment which took place in April 2012. Their next assessment will be taking place in Spring 2013.

Grundy Park Leisure Centre was awarded a score of 'Good' in their one day Quest Entry assessment which took place in March 2012. Their next assessment will take place in Spring 2013.

The John Warner Sports Centre was awarded a score of 80 per cent in their last assessment which took place in January 2010. Their next assessment will take place in May/June 2012.

How does the assessment work?

The assessment takes the form of ever an one or two day formal assessment, depending on whether you are being assessed on the Quest Entry and Quest Plus criteria. The assessment involves the interviewing of staff, a detailed inspection of the centre and the centre's systems and procedures, as well as a mystery shopper visit. The scores are awarded if the centre has maintained a high standard and demonstrates continuous improvement and development in service standards.  This formal assessment occurs every two years but the centres are regularly visited by Quest on a number of maintenance visits to make sure that improvement is continuous.

Who else has the assessment?

These centres are three of only 1000 centres across the UK to have been awarded the QUEST accreditation.

What is GolfMark?

GolfMark is a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner-friendly golf facilities.

In receiving the accreditation, the centre has met the official quality standard from the National Governing Bodies of Golf in England, showing that the needs of children have been considered and addressed at the centre.

It shows that the club offers a fun, enjoyable and welcoming environment and that juniors are taught a game that will teach them respect, social and life skills, discipline and honesty. The GolfMark accreditation is there to reassure parents that the club is an excellent facility for juniors and beginners.

Steve Peet from the English Golf Union comments:

‘Cheshunt Park Golf Centre is nationally recognised as a junior and beginner friendly golf club and the club offers an extremely high quality experience to members and visitors alike. The club provides a welcoming, accessible, fun and most importantly, safe environment in which juniors and beginners can mature and learn the game.’
