Rye Meads RSPB reserve

The Rye Meads Reserve is designated a site of
special scientific interest (SSSI). It comprises a
variety of habitats and is a good place to see birds at
close quarters. Residents include London's biggest breeding colony
of Common Tern, Kingfishers, Teals, Snipes, Cuckoos, Warblers and
all three British Woodpecker species, Tufted Ducks, Gadwalls and
Shovelers.
