Parks and open spaces
Parks & open space
Broxbourne Council provides over 280 hectares (nearly 450 acres)
of open space for the enjoyment of its residents and visitors. The
Council is constantly improving the quality and accessibility of
its open spaces to encourage as many people as possible to get
outside for relaxation, reflection, sport, recreation and
education. In a busy and increasingly urbanised world the benefits
of being outdoor for mental and physical well-being are more
apparent and important than ever before. Green open spaces also
help to stabilise urban temperatures and humidity; absorb
pollutants in air and ground water; and provide habitats and havens
for wildlife. Broxbourne Council operates an events schedule in the
parks throughout the year. For details go to Outdoor Events

Broxbourne Council subscribes to greenSTAT, a park user feedback
system set up by GreenSpace, a registered charity working to
improve parks and green spaces by raising awareness, involving
communities, and creating skilled professionals. For more
