Cedars Park lottery bid

Broxbourne's bid for Lottery funding for Cedars
Park
'Parks
for People' is a programme to regenerate parks across the UK
and is jointly funded by The Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage
Lottery Fund. Broxbourne Council has been awarded the maximum
project planning grant of £50,000 to support the development of a
full bid for Cedars Park. The grant is being used to undertake an
archeological survey; user and non-user consultation; to develop
conservation; access; usage and park management - all of which will
help us to understand the park's heritage and function within
the community. Future improvements could include proposals for
better car parking, heritage interpretation, conservation,
improving the cafe and play areas and provision of community
meeting space. It could include educational resources for local
children; staff and transport for volunteers and community groups
who currently have difficulty accessing the park. Look out for
exhibitions and events in and around the park, receive the latest
news and have your say in the park's future by joining the Friends
of Cedars Park Group. For further details email ah.leisure@broxbourne.gov.uk
The Friends of Cedars Park is a group of regular park users who
act as the eyes and ears for the park manager as well as providing
support for community events. It is free to join and requires no
obligation - Friends receive regular updates on park activity and
can attend the bi-annual meetings. To join in contact the park
manager by email ah.leisure@broxbourne.gov.uk
or download an
application form.
