Grundy Park Leisure Centre Development

GPLCnewlogo

Broxbourne Council is investing £4 million in developing Grundy Park Leisure Centre, Windmill Lane, Cheshunt to make it 'Fit for the 21st Century.'  This is part of the Council's ongoing investment in leisure and sports facilities throughout the Borough and aims to help build a sporting legacy following the success of the 2012 Olympic Games.

History of Grundy Park Leisure Centre

Grundy Park Leisure Centre opened to the public in 1985 with swimming facilities available. Additional facilities were added later such as the gym, in 1990.  Over 500,000 people use the centre every year. Although there has been substantial capital investment over the years in both the structure and fabric of the building, the Council wishes to significantly upgrade the building and the user experience.

Fit for the 21st Centre

You said, we did

Many customers at the centre told us that they were not satisfied with the existing Centre and that it was desperately in need of modernisation.  81 per cent of customers told us that they wanted the development to happen.  For further results from the consultation exercise completed with customers at the leisure centre are available to view online.
