Old woodlands are full of clues about how they were once managed
to supply a regular harvest of timber products. Some of today's
route crosses part of Hertfordshire County Council's rural estate
which celebrates its centenary this year. It follows some steep and
uneven woodland paths.
Meet at Bencroft Wood west car park in White Stubbs Lane,
Broxbourne.
This is a free walk lead by the Countryside Management
Service.
No need to book.
