Annual Community Open Day
The Council’s annual
Community Open Day will be held on Saturday 4 July at the Borough
offices in Churchgate, Cheshunt, between 2pm and 5pm. This
free civic event will host many community groups and be a
family-oriented event with something of interest for all age
groups.
This year’s theme is climate change and the
need to reduce damaging carbon dioxide emissions. Other
activities for children to participate in include an inflatable fun
fair, 5-a-side football, a bouncy castle, face painting and an
opportunity to have their photo taken with Bob the
Badger.
Residents will be able to view the wide range
of council services provided for residents and visit over 70 other
local organisations exhibiting at the Community Open Day. The
charities, special interest clubs, and volunteer groups which have
booked space at this year’s event include Cheshunt Karate Club,
Cheshunt Dramatic Society, Broxbourne Church Bell Ringers, S.E.
Herts Beekeepers, Cheshunt Rifle and Pistol Club and Cheshunt
Horticultural Society. Refreshments will be available from the
WRVS.
The sustainable transport charity Sustrans
will also be attending to promote the national ‘Connect 2’ day and
the Council’s associated A10 footbridge project.
Entry to Open Day and participation in the activities are
free. All residents and their friends are invited to attend
this community event.
