Anti-litter vandalism champion

The mayor with young poster winnerThe Mayor of Broxbourne Cllr Tranham recently played host to three youngsters who won the top three prizes in the Council’s annual spring term anti-litter poster competition.  The competition brief was to produce a piece of artwork which would support the Council’s drive to keep the Borough’s streets, parks and town centres free of litter and vandalism.

To support the competition Council officers visited 13 of the Borough’s primary schools during February and March and spoke to over 2,200 children to explain that Broxbourne needed commitment from everybody to ensure it remained a clean and pleasant place to live and work.  The children were generally very enthusiastic and were receptive to ideas for adapting their lifestyles to ensure rubbish was disposed of responsibly.
