Council marks Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces FlagThe Council marked Armed Forces Day on 22 June 2009 with a formal flag raising at the Borough Offices, Bishops’ College, Cheshunt.  The Mayor of Broxbourne, Councillor Mrs Lyn White and the Leader of the Council, Councillor Ken Ayling were in attendance, along with Major Peter Barlow and cadets from the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for East Anglia.

The first annual day to celebrate the work of the Armed Forces community will take place on Saturday 27 June 2009.  Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the nation to show its support for Service men and women, whether veteran or still serving. It is an opportunity to honour and celebrate the work they do in support of the country.
