Broxbourne Business Fair

The Borough Council will be holding the second annual business fair in Broxbourne on Friday 30 May 2008 at Wolsey Hall, Windmill Lane, Cheshunt.  The event, which is sponsored by Axis magazine, Broxbourne Housing Association and Tesco, will run from 11am to 3pm and will be opened by the Mayor of Broxbourne.  The event will have representation from a wide range of local businesses and the voluntary sector and a number of short talks will take place throughout the day including a talk from the Olympic Delivery Authority on how companies can tender to provide goods and services for the 2012 Olympics.

The purpose of the fair is to offer advice and information on a range of topics relevant to local businesses, to foster links between the public sector and the business sector and to encourage residents to think about starting up their own businesses.

The event will include:

- Business information and advice
- Advice on support for new business start ups eg grants
- Encouraging social enterprise
- Networking opportunities
- Information about selling to the public sector

This event offers an opportunity for the Council and other public sector organisations to engage with local businesses, especially those which are small and looking to expand.  The format of the event allows visitors to ‘drop in’ at a suitable time for them and spend as little or as long as they like looking at the services on offer.  The Council has produced a leaflet with details of the five short talks and what is on offer on the day.  Further information and copies of the leaflets are available in the ‘Business in Broxbourne’ section of the Council’s website, by e-mailing rac.comms@broxbourne.gov.uk or telephoning 01992 785592.
