Citizens’ Panel to explore perception of services for older people
The first area of consultation for the
Broxbourne Citizens’ Panel will be services for older people in the
Borough.
The Council is inviting members of the
Citizens’ Panel to take part in a focus group session. Attendants
will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions on a number
of issues related to older people.
The session will explore residents’ perception
of services provided for the elderly both by the Council and other
statutory agencies including health, transport, leisure and
housing. The session will also seek to uncover more general
opinions and attitudes, such as what older people value most in
their lives and what it means to be elderly in the 21st
century.
The focus group forms part of a wider Council
initiative which aims to ensure that the services for older people,
on the part of all agencies, are targeted, relevant and
effective.
The first focus group session is taking place
on 24 January 2012. 18 residents will be invited to attend. The
Council hopes to conduct additional sessions early in the new year.
Those taking part in the first session consist of members of the
Citizens’ Panel who have informed the Council that they are
interested in services for older people and attending small group
discussions.
