Food hygiene training
Broxbourne Council has arranged an opportunity
for food handlers to obtain the nationally-recognised Chartered
Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) level two food hygiene
certificate. This one-day course will take place on Tuesday 7
October at the Spanish Ambassador’s Suite at Bishops’ College,
Churchgate, Cheshunt between 8.45am and 5pm.
To protect businesses and customers, it is
desirable that people who prepare food for public consumption, or
manage this process, receive the appropriate training. This
course will help businesses comply with the law and to help ensure
the safety of the food they supply. As new legislation is
introduced and food technology advances, it is also recommended
that food handlers undertake refresher training at least every
three years.
The course is suitable for people who work in
a commercial kitchen preparing food, those who serve food to the
general public or anyone interested in food safety. A buffet
lunch, course booklet and the examination fee are included in the
fee of £49 per person.
Those interested in booking a place on the
course can contact the Council on 01992 785511 or email envhealth@broxbourne.gov.uk.
Candidates are encouraged to book as soon as
possible as they are asked to do some homework ahead of the
course. Where there is sufficient demand, the Council will
attempt to arrange courses in other languages. Alternatively,
the Council’s Health & Social Care
section provides a list of private trainers that run courses in
a number of different languages.
