Goffs Oak village improvements
Following
consultation with local shopkeepers and residents on possible
improvements to Goffs Oak village, the Borough Council has recently
completed a programme of environmental enhancements in the
area. The project, which has been carried out over the past
12 months, culminated in the completion of work around the War
Memorial and in front of the shops in June this year and has also
included improvements to the public car park and recreation
area.
The final part of the scheme included
improvements to the footways, planters and the carriageway surface,
with the major focal point being the area around the War Memorial.
New slab paving has been provided in the pedestrian areas, and
measures have been introduced to prevent footway parking which in
the past has contributed to the deterioration of the street scene
in the village centre.
The Council believes that this project has
made a significant improvement to the Goffs Oak area. For

Borough, residents can telephone the Council’s Helpline on 01992
