Residents could save £300 on energy bills thanks to new scheme

In a scheme which is supported by Broxbourne Council, residents in the Borough are being offered the chance to have loft and cavity wall insulation fitted in their homes for free, regardless of their financial situation*. These two energy saving measures could help to reduce the cost of heating homes by around £300 a year**.

The scheme is provided by a new partnership between the Herts Essex Energy Partnership (HEEP) and Climate Energy.

This scheme has been made possible from funding under the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT), where the country’s energy providers are obligated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from domestic buildings.

Operatives from Climate Energy will visit homes to carry out a no obligation survey to check they are suitable for these energy saving measures and the installation will be carried out by qualified and experienced installers from Climate Energy.

Residents who want to find out how they can benefit from free loft and cavity wall insulation are asked to call HEEP on 0800 980 6026.

*All offers are subject to a technical survey and the size of property.  Most properties up to and including a standard three-bed house will qualify.

** Calculations based on figures from the Energy Saving Trust about savings following insulation of energy efficiency measures.
