Final Inspector's Report

The Council has received a final copy of the Inspector’s Report into Broxbourne’s Core Strategy under the Local Development Framework.

The Inspector has broadly concluded that the Core Strategy can be found sound, but only if proposals for Greater Brookfield are deleted.

The Council now intends to take stock of the situation and evaluate all available options before deciding on the best way forward for the Borough and Greater Brookfield. The Council is taking legal advice on some background legal issues which arose from the enactment of the Localism Act 2011 and it may be necessary to call a special meeting of the Council early in the New Year to consider the matter within the timescales which arose from the new Act.

A copy of the Final Inspector’s Report is available from the ‘environment and planning’ section of the website.
