Delivery of booklets about the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Election
The delivery of booklets by the Electoral Commission about the
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Election to all residential
properties in England and Wales commenced on Monday 22 October 2012
and will be completed by Friday 2 November 2012. The booklet
explains the role of the PCC, who is eligible to vote, how to cast
a vote at a polling station on Thursday 15 November 2012 and how to
vote by post or proxy.
The booklet provides a website link so the public can find out
who is standing for election in Hertfordshire and see information
about the candidates, which is available to view on a
Home Office hosted national
website . Alternatively, electors can telephone the Home Office
on 0800 1070708 to order a free paper version of the candidate
information, which will be sent by the Home Office to them by
post. The number is free from landline phones. Costs
for calls made on mobile phones may vary.
The booklet also provides a website link to the Electoral
Commission’s “About My Vote” website , which
offers more in depth information about registering to vote, the
voting system and how the votes are counted. Alternatively,
electors can telephone the Electoral Commission on 0800 3280280 to
obtain this information.
The deadline for registering to vote is Wednesday 31 October
2012. The closing date for postal vote applications is Wednesday 31
October 2012 and the closing date for proxy applications is
Wednesday 7 November 2012. The polling stations will be open from
7am to10pm on Thursday 15 November 2012.
