Recycle your plastic bottles
Broxbourne Council is currently rolling out
the purple and clear sacks scheme. Clear sacks are being provided
to allow residents to recycle plastic bottles at the kerbside.
Any plastic bottle will be collected but
please rinse them out.
Tips to reduce and reuse plastics:
- Try to avoid buying products using excess packaging or plastic
trays. Buy loose fruit and vegetables where possible.
- Buy refillable products wherever possible eg. water bottles and
inkjet cartridges
- Use reusable shopping bags or ‘bags for life’ instead of
carrier bags
- Use lunch boxes and flasks instead of wrappers and disposable
drinks containers
- Plastic containers can be washed out and used in the shed and
green house for storing seeds and as plant pots.
