Recycling leaflet

The delivery of Broxbourne Council’s new flats recycling leaflet called “Keep recycling!” commenced on 22 June and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.

Two versions of the recycling leaflet have been produced for residents living in flats; one for residents with access to kerbside recycling services and another to encourage residents to recycle at their nearest neighbourhood recycling centre.  A recycling questionnaire has been inserted into the leaflets to help the Council determine where it can improve recycling facilities for residents in flats.  Residents should return the questionnaire to the Council via freepost or complete it online. All questionnaire responses need to be returned to the Council by Friday 31 July.

The community’s willingness to recycle and throw away less continues to improve. Comparing April 2008 with April 2009, the Council’s recycling and composting rate has increased by 10 per cent from 32.1 per cent to 42.1 per cent, whilst the residual waste per household has decreased by 14.8 per cent from 54kg to 46kg.

For further information on any waste or recycling services provided by the Council, residents can visit Council one stop shops, call the Helpline on 01992 785577, or email recycling@broxbourne.gov.uk . Alternatively, information is also available on the Council’s website  in the ‘environment and planning’ section.
