Residents identify wildlife
Twenty three
people joined the Countryside Management Service and Park Manager
on an early morning bird watching walk around Cheshunt Park. The
weather was fine and over 20 different species were spotted at
this, the height of the nesting season.
Last Saturday eleven residents took part in
the Baas Hill Butterfly Walk. Butterfly expert Andrew
Middleton of Herts Butterfly Conservation helped the residents to
identify eight different species of butterfly. The night
before Andrew set up a moth trap which caught three species of
moth.
Another free
butterfly walk is scheduled to take place on Sunday 25 May at
Cheshunt Park with Herts Butterfly Conservation and the Countryside
Management Service. For more details contact the Parks department
