Safer community monitor for third quarter of 2009 2010
Broxbourne’s safer community monitor for the
third quarter of 2009/10 has been published. The monitor
tracks the progress of the Broxbourne Crime and Disorder Reduction
Partnership (BCDRP) in improving community safety in the
Borough.
The monitor shows that for the year to date,
anti-social behaviour in the Borough has fallen by 17.5 per cent
(5,824 down to 4,804 incidents) and criminal damage has fallen by
13.3 per cent (1,101 down to 954 incidents).
Between October and December 2009, the BCDRP
secured 36 Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) and three
Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO) against individuals committing
anti-social behaviour in the Borough. These were largely as a
result of targeted operations in Andrews Lane, Rosedale; Endeavour
Road, Cheshunt and Fishers Close, Waltham Cross. The Police
also issued 35 nuisance ‘warning’ letters and made 13 alcohol
seizures, and 125 ‘stop and accounts’ were issued by Police
Community Support Officers. The Council’s parks patrol also
made a further 42 alcohol seizures.
The monitor has information on the annual
strategic assessment which determines local community safety
priorities for 2010/11. It also contains news on local
neighbourhood budgets for community safety, the community payback
scheme and the ‘Crucial Crew’ initiative which aims to provide 10
and 11 year olds in the Borough with a good grounding in personal
safety. In addition, there are details on the forthcoming
programme of meetings of the local neighbourhood forums.
Residents can report incidents of anti-social
behaviour to the Council by phoning 01992 785577 and incidents of
crime to the Police on 0845 330
0222.
