Teddy Bears' Picnic 2008
Over 650 toddlers
and their families enjoyed the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic at
Broxbourne Civic Hall on Thursday 7 August. Despite the
changeable weather, the show went on outside and there were lots of
smiling faces as Barney the Bear took to the stage in the show ‘The
Teddy Bears’ Picnic’.
Prizes were awarded for the smallest, largest,
best dressed and most well loved bears by the Mayor of Broxbourne,
Councillor Mrs Carol Crump-Eynon.
Despite the rain, over 160 toddlers had their
faces painted, the free inflatable bouncy castle and slide were
well used and children made balloon butterflies and coloured in
‘Beauty and the Beast’ pictures at the arts and crafts table.
Older children were able to play giant games including
‘Jenga’. Other games which were played towards the end of the
day included ‘Connect 4’, ‘Ludo’, ‘Snakes and Ladders’ and
‘Parachutes’.
Most of the children were thrilled to see
Goldilocks and the three bears and many enjoyed a cuddle with both
Mummy and Daddy bear.
