The 2008 children's pet show
Wormley Community Centre hosted the annual Children’s
Pet Show on Tuesday 29 July with all sorts of ‘creepy crawlies’ and
four-legged friends taking part.
Dog classes included amongst others
‘most waggly tail, ‘best mature dog’, ‘most handsome dog’ and ‘dog
the judge would most like to take home’. Categories for the
cats included ‘brightest eyes, ‘longest whiskers’ and ‘best
condition’.
Smaller pets were also included in the show,
rabbit categories included, ‘brightest eyes’ and ‘best condition’
there were also plenty of hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils entered
into the show with a stick insect included in the ‘most unusual pet
in show’ category.
Paradise Wildlife Park joined in the fun by
bringing along an owl and skunk to meet the children.
Former RSPCA fund raisers Daphne and Dennis
Bowyer kindly judged the competition and Deputy Mayor Councillor
Mrs Lyn White awarded the rosettes to the winners.
