Vintage and Classic Vehicle Display
Broxbourne
Council, with support from the Enfield and District Veteran Vehicle
Trust, will be holding its annual Vintage and Classic Vehicle
Display between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 11 July. This will be the
15th consecutive year this popular event has been held
in Hoddesdon town centre. The event will be supported by
three local car dealerships who will display a range of new cars
around the Clock Tower and in the High Street on the day.
Last year the oldest vintage vehicles were a
1926 Royal Enfield Motorbike, a 1927 Overland Whippet and a 1928
Bentley 4.5. The Car of the Show chosen by the Mayor of Broxbourne
was a 1961 Vauxhall Victor.
There will be a display of around 150 vintage
and classic vehicles this year, as well as memorabilia from bygone
days. Some of the vehicles expected at the Hoddesdon show are a
variety of pre-war vehicles including a 1929 Rolls Royce Limousine,
1932 Austin Pick-Up Truck, 1933 Brough Junior 680cc
motorcycle. The classic vehicles will include a range of
Jaguars, Morris Minors, Fords including Consuls, Corsairs, Capris
and many more.
Entertainment will be provided at both ends of
the town, with a jazz band at the Jubilee Shelter in the southern
end of the town where the majority of older vehicles are placed and
a band playing music from the all eras at the northern end near the
Clock Tower.
