Council consults on Waltham Cross town centre improvements
The Council is currently developing a
programme of environmental improvements for the Waltham Cross town
centre area as part of the Waltham Cross Renaissance project.
A number of these proposals are now at their design stage and
feedback from residents and local businesses would be welcomed.
It is proposed that improvements work will
begin in the spring of this year and will cost around £250K.
Proposed enhancements include:
- Waltham Cross Station improvements scheme,
including new signage to the white water canoe centre, the town
centre and bus station. An extension to the playing fields
car park is also under consideration;
- Theobalds Grove station access improvements,
including improved signage, additional lighting under the railway
bridge, covered cycle storage, improved taxi waiting facilities and
an area for cars to drop off passengers; and
- Theobalds Grove station car park scheme,
including improvements to lighting, paving and additional street
furniture
- Environmental improvements to Long Croft
Drive, including improved boundary fencing and tree planting, new
paved footway areas and improved landscaping.
