Walkers put their best feet forward at the Great Borough Walk in Broxbourne.
More than 40 ramblers took on the 12-mile route on Saturday 13 January.
Walk leaders led residents and Councillors, from Goffs Oak to the Lea Valley Park, up through Broxbourne to the end just north of Hoddesdon.
The event kicked off the Borough’s special Year of Community and Hertfordshire’s Year of Physical Activity by bringing people together.
Mayor of Broxbourne, Councillor Carol Crump, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Great Borough Walk. It kick started our Year of Community and the county’s Year of Physical activity brilliantly. It was wonderful to meet and talk to those who took part; please do keep an eye out for future events.
“Finally, I would like to thank the walk leaders and the staff at the Council who made this happen, and everyone who got their walking boots on too!”
With New Year’s resolutions and the weather on their side, the group tackled the route in 4 hours and 30 minutes. Each walker racked up 30,000 steps.
Refreshments were provided at Tesco at the Brookfield Centre, with Community Champion Lynn Wood giving walkers a warm welcome.
