Christmas festivities, lights and markets are set to line the streets of the Borough’s town centres to help residents get into the festive spirit.
A feast for all the senses will fill high streets with the warm glow of lights, the scent of mulled wine and food at markets and the sound of carol singing.
Impressive 25ft trees will be erected in Hoddesdon, Waltham Cross and Goffs Oak, sponsored by local businesses Nonna’s Kitchen (Hoddesdon), News International (Waltham Cross), and JMP Hire Ltd and Containit4u (Goffs Oak).
Lights will also adorn high streets in both towns, while Cheshunt’s Old Pond roundabout will have its tree decorated and a reindeer and a sleigh installed.
There is a packed programme of Christmas events to enjoy.
Hoddesdon Loves Christmas
The Love Hoddesdon Team, working closely with the Council, has pulled together a major festive event that will take place in the town centre from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 25 November. There will be festive entertainment and a range of charity, food and market stalls, fairground rides and a parade. Shops will be getting creative in a best dressed window competition and kids will be able to visit a Santa’s grotto. Cook and television celebrity, Gino D’Acampo, will join the Mayor to switch on the Christmas tree lights. This will be followed by a short fireworks display. The festive day has received financial backing from local sponsors and retailers.
