A planning application for the construction of an Energy Recovery Facility in Ratty's Lane, Hoddesdon, will be heard at the next Planning and Regulatory Committee meeting at Broxbourne Council on 3 October.
Members of the public can apply to speak at the meeting or submit their thoughts by email or post. For more information, click here.
Broxbourne Council has already objected to the proposal but a report recommending that a further more detailed objection be made to Hertfordshire County Council, the planning authority in matters of waste disposal, will be heard at the 3 October meeting.
The objection will be based on the facility being in the wrong location and its size, as well as the increased movement of traffic to and from the site.
Ratty’s Lane is very narrow and is accessed via Essex Road, which is already severely congested. Broxbourne Council has also requested the Secretary of State to “call in” the application so that a public inquiry can be held.
The application is available to view on the County Council’s website www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/planning. The official consultation period has closed, but representations will be considered until the day the application is determined, which has not yet been announced.
