Types of abuse
There are many signs that could indicate a child, young person or adult at risk is in need of care. You should report any suspected cases of:
- physical abuse
- emotional abuse
- sexual abuse
- radicalisation
- female genital mutilation (FGM)
- neglect and self-neglect (adult at risk)
- hoarding
- self-harming
Modern Slavery is a term used to describe a range of abusive behaviour relating to imprisonment:
- forced labour
- forced marriage
- domestic servitude
- sexual, financial and criminal exploitation
