Petitions

Residents may submit petitions to the Council. 

The Council will respond to each petition received.  Petitions are referred to the appropriate head of service who will reply to the lead petitioner and set out any actions the Council intends to take as a result.  In submitting a petition, the name and address of each petitioner should be provided along with a clear and concise statement covering the subject of the petition on what action petitions wish the Council to take.

The Council also accepts on-line petitions.  On-line petitions must follow the same guidelines as paper petitions and may be submitted to memberservices@broxbourne.gov.uk.

All petitions received are reported to the Cabinet.  The Council’s Constitution also provides for members of the public to present petitions to meetings of the Council.  Any petition to be presented to the Council shall be notified in writing to the Chief Executive before 4pm, seven clear working days before the day of the meeting.
