The Mayor

The Mayor is the ceremonial civic head of the Council, having been elected by fellow councillors.   

The role of the Mayor is politically impartial and only members of the Royal Family or the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire have higher precedence in the Borough.
The Mayor’s full title is The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Broxbourne. The Mayor is elected each year at the Annual Meeting of the Council at the start of the new municipal year.
The Mayor 
The Mayor for 2017/18 is Councillor Carol Crump. Councillor Mrs Crump has been a councillor since 2002. She was brought up in Cheshunt. The eldest of five children, she attended Burleigh School and later Cheshunt Secondary Modern, now Cheshunt School. Carol has two daughters and six grandchildren, all of whom live in the Borough of Broxbourne. For the past thirty years her family business has been based in Cheshunt and she has been involved with various local bodies including the Brownies, Young Carers and the local Parkinson's support group and as Governor of Arlesdene Nursery School. When Carol was Mayor in 2008/9 she initiated the first St. George's Fun Day Celebration at Grundy Park which has now become an annual event.

The Deputy Mayor

The Deputy Mayor for 2017/18 is Councillor Steve Wortley and the Deputy Mayoress is Corinne Wortley.
