Services for older people

Broxbourne Borough Council provides various services designed to be flexible and responsive to the individual needs of older residents. The Council also works in partnership with other local agencies to provide care and support for older people.

The Council's Guide to Services for Older People lists local services and organisations which may be useful. The Be Active booklet lists upcoming events and social and leisure activities that may be of interest to older people. Both booklets are available to view to the right of the page. Copies are available from Council facilities and One Stop Shops.

To be sent a printed copy of either of these booklets, or for more information on services for older people in Broxbourne, contact the Council's Policy and Project Officer on 01992 785654.

The meals service

The meals service arranges the delivery of a choice of hot, two-course meals for Borough residents who have difficulty preparing a hot meal for themselves. The menu can cater for dietary variations and allows people to choose from a variety of meals each day. The service is provided by Hertfordshire Independent Living Service, a not for profit social enterprise.

For more information about meals, including costs, contact Hertfordshire Independent Living Service on 0330 2000 103 or visit the website.
