The autumn 2018 edition of The Guide offers young people aged 11-19 years an enticing range of free or low-cost activities in the Borough.
Sports sessions, youth clubs and discos all feature in the latest programme of activities which includes provision from a number of youth and community agencies.
Among the many forms of entertainment, youngsters can join Girls Rugby at Cheshunt Rugby Club on Tuesday evenings between 6.30-8pm, Thursday Night Basketball sessions at Grundy Park kickabout court from 6-8pm and Friday Night Football at The Laura Trott Leisure Centre from 6-8pm.
Young people will also be encouraged to let their voices be heard as valuable members of the community at Youth Council meetings which will run alongside training to become Democracy Ambassadors. This will take place at the Council offices, fortnightly on Wednesday at 7-9pm.
The Friday Night Project runs weekly from 5-10.30pm at various locations throughout the Borough. A silver van will be seen in parks and open spaces with youth workers on board to chat to youngsters. Hot drinks, Wi-Fi and games consoles will be offered on board.
The Next Generation Youth Club will be held at Boundary Park on the Plomer Avenue Estate every Thursday night 7.30-9pm for those aged 13-16 years.
Three X-Plosion Club Night events have been organised for pupils in school years 7, 8 and 9. On 19 October and 30 November the events will take place from 7.30-10.30pm at Goffs School. Tickets can be bought in advance from The Laura Trott Leisure Centre for £5.60 or £6.50 on the door. A special Halloween X-Plosion Club Night will take place on Wednesday 31 October at the Laura Trott Leisure Centre with tickets costing just £5.
The Autumn edition of The Guide also contains details of additional youth engagement projects taking place over Halloween to provide positive alternatives to anti-social behaviour.
