As part of the Council’s commitment to provide convenient self-service facilities it will soon be possible for members of the public to create an account to manage their council tax, benefits and business rates online.
This will allow residents and business owners access to their account at a time suitable for them, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. They will be able to view the balance of their account, set up or amend Direct Debits, create payment arrangements and select their preferred methods of communications.
In addition, users will be able to notify the Council of a change of address or a change of circumstances, as well as apply for benefits.
The new system will use intelligent forms with inbuilt support, allowing almost complete automation of some processes creating a more efficient and simpler service.
