Herts Coach Education Week 2019

The Herts Sports Partnership’s Annual Coach Education Week is back and ready to train a workforce of coaches across Hertfordshire for 2019.
Taking place between 18 and 24 February, the half term week aims to support and develop sport and physical activity workforces to be suitably qualified in their quest to lead a more active and healthy county.
A wide range of partners have engaged with this year’s programme including the Hertfordshire Sports Village Sport and Performance Team, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Hatfield based charity Pro Action, the Herts Disability Sports Foundation and various leisure operators. Additionally, a women and girls coaching breakfast talk will highlight the successes of the ‘This Girl Can’ campaign.
This year’s programme also offers a range of learning opportunities from guest lecturers; Richard Cheetham MBE was awarded UK Coaching Coach Developer of the Year 2018 and on Monday 18 February, addresses a free ticketed audience discussing the holistic side of coaching.
Coach Education Week 2019 organiser Chris Samways is proud to have brought together a programme with such fantastic opportunities for Hertfordshire coaches.
Chris said, ‘We are keen to ensure coaches have useful and engaging development opportunities that encourage lifelong and independent learning. The value of coaches is evident in supporting an active nation and county, and we must do our utmost to encourage coaches to connect with their participants so they can thrive.’
