Drivers in the Borough of Broxbourne will now be able to use the PayByPhone cashless parking services in 16 locations across the Borough. The new service is available as an alternative to traditional pay-and-display parking in key off-street locations, across 1,232 parking spaces, and was introduced after a successful trial at the Council offices.
PayByPhone users can choose to receive text message reminders before parking sessions expire and with the app’s ‘extend-from-anywhere’ feature, users have the ability to extend parking sessions remotely in accordance with the car parks’ terms and conditions. This feature is now also available to users with an Apple Watch using watchOS4.0, allowing parking to be extended directly from the watch.
Broxbourne Borough Councilor Paul Seeby, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing, Environment and Community, said: “The introduction of the PayByPhone system is a great value-add to the existing payment options available in the Borough’s car parks. With this new service, drivers will no longer be restricted to just paying with cash, and will benefit from the flexibility, ease and convenience of extending their parking time from anywhere.”
Anthony Cashel, Marketing Manager for PayByPhone UK, said: “We are very excited to launch PayByPhone in the Borough of Broxbourne. Our UK head office is based in Hertfordshire, so it’s great to be able to deliver our services to the surrounding areas.”
Mobile parking payments offer many advantages to residents and to the Council. Not only does it make the parking experience more hassle-free, but it also greatly reduces vandalism and the cost of maintaining the pay-and-display machines.
The PayByPhone app can be used immediately by downloading the app from the App Store, Google Play Store, or by visiting the PayByPhone website paybyphone.co.uk.
