I would like to apply for a disabled parking bay

What you can do

Special parking spaces are available to allow blue badge holders to park near their homes. Blue badge bays are provided free of charge and available for any blue badge holder to use.

Blue badge bays are provided at locations where there is:

  • high demand for on street parking
  • no alternative parking (garage or driveway)

You can apply for a bay, if:

  • you are a blue badge holder
  • the vehicle is frequently used by the blue badge holder
  • the vehicle is permanently based at the blue badge holder's address
  • the driver of the vehicle is a resident at the blue badge holder's address

You may also apply for a bay on behalf of a blue badge holder, if all of the above apply to them.

You can apply for a bay by completing the form below. You will need:

  • the blue badge number and expiry date
  • to submit a copy of the driver’s licence
  • to submit a copy of the driver’s vehicle registration document

You should be aware that:

  • it could take up to six months to complete the construction of a bay
  • the bay is not a dedicated bay, which means any blue badge holder is entitled to use the bay

You can email highways@broxbourne.gov.uk if you need help with the application process.

Your application could be rejected if:

  • the driver, passenger or car ownership details do not match your address
  • the blue badge has expired
  • demand for parking in the area is low
  • enough blue badge bays are already available in the road
  • the proposed location is subject to waiting restrictions such as yellow lines

Please note, no more than 10% of the available parking in the street can be disabled parking.
