Youth projects

The Borough of Broxbourne delivers a number of projects for young people aged 11 to 19 throughout the year with additional activities in the school holidays. Current projects are:

Holdbrook Multi-Sports

Free football, basketball, dodgeball etc for young people aged 11-18 every Monday evening 5.30pm-7.30pm at the kickabout court on the Holdbrook Estate in Waltham Cross (by the Holdbrook Primary School)

Thursday Cricket Club

A FREE Thursday street cricket session for children aged 8–15 in Cheshunt. Held indoors at Laura Trott Leisure Centre, the sessions are inclusive, fun, and suitable for all abilities, with all equipment provided to ensure everyone can take part. The sessions are for ages 8 - 15, for more information, please contact community@broxbourne.gov.uk

Time: 5pm - 6pm

ParkPlay Grundy Park

A free, welcoming ParkPlay session at Grundy Park every Saturday from 10am. Come along to make friends, get active, and enjoy fun games and activities with your local community. Open to all ages, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. For more information, please contact community@broxbourne.gov.uk

Learn2Ride Cycling Camp - February Half Term

A free Learn2Ride Cycle Camp for children aged 6–11, helping build confidence and basic cycling skills in a fun, supportive environment. All equipment, including bikes, is provided, and booking is essential. For more information, please contact community@broxbourne.gov.uk

Fit and Fed

A free Fit and Fed half-term programme for young people aged 8–16 who receive free school meals or whose families are feeling the pinch. The programme offers fun activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, along with healthy meals and drinks in a supportive, welcoming environment. Broxbourne Youth Council

The Broxbourne Youth Council meets every Wednesday evening (excluding school holidays) from 7-9pm at the Cheshunt Young People's Centre. The Broxbourne Youth Council is run jointly by Broxbourne Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council's Services for Young People.

Young people are given the opportunity to have a voice on issues that matter to them. It provides opportunities to share ideas, influence local decisions, and work with councillors and partners to help shape services and improve the community for young people.
