About your Council Tax
All residents or landlords within the Borough must pay council tax.
This is a property tax that helps fund local services provided by the following organisations:
- Borough of Broxbourne
- Hertfordshire County Council
- Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire
The Council will send you an annual bill, listing the total amount of council tax you will need to pay for the financial year ahead (April to March of the following year).
This includes a percentage breakdown of what will be paid to each of the organisations (named above), as well as a summary of your monthly instalments.
Payments are typically over a 10 month period, between April (the beginning of the financial year) and the following January. This can also be set to a 12 month period upon request.
