I want to report a food hygiene issue

Further information

All food businesses are subject to a programme of inspections. The results of these inspections are reported to the Food Standards Agency which publishes the results in the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. Due to the social distancing rules put in place to control the spread of COVID-19, the inspections and the publication of the results have been deferred until new guidance is available on how the inspections should take place.

Food alerts are issued by the Food Standards Agency when a manufacturer of a product advises them of a product fault. This is usually due to incorrect labelling, foreign objects or product safety. All food safety alerts are available on the Food Standards Agency website
