Hoddesdon Cemetery
Hoddesdon Cemetery opened in 1883 with the first burial taking place on 16 February 1883.
Initially only the southern half of the cemetery was used for burials in conventional graves, and the other half was later used from 1936.
Cremated remains plots were introduced in 1975 and lawn graves followed in 1988. As of March 2024 there were 13,626 people buried and cremated remains interred in Hoddesdon Cemetery.
The cemetery is now ‘full’ for new graves but there are many old ‘public graves’ that are available for purchase and use.
