New energy efficiency scheme helps residents improve the warmth of their homes for winter

Through the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme local residents can access funds to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their fuel bills.

Residents can apply for funding for loft or cavity wall insulation or an A rated energy efficient boiler. The funding available is means tested and is managed by award winning Community Interest Company YES Energy Solutions. The company will arrange for the installations through its network of accredited local contractors.

Councillor David Holliday, Cabinet Member for Environment said: “We are thrilled to be able to support qualifying local residents with making their homes more energy efficient and less costly, resulting in a warmer and healthier environment to live in.

“Now more than ever, as the pandemic continues, it is crucial for qualifying residents to access these home improvements which are designed to keep households healthy through the cold winter months whilst reducing their energy bills.”

Residents who believe that they may be eligible for the scheme are advised to call YES Energy Solutions on 01422 880100.
