Broxbourne Council’s proposed new Statement of Licensing Policy

Broxbourne Borough Council is seeking views on its new Statement of Licensing Policy, which will come into effect later this year.

The Licensing Act 2003 requires each local authority to adopt and publish a Statement of Licensing Policy at least every five years. The purpose of the policy is to set out the principles the Council will apply when carrying out its licensing functions under the Act for regulating the sale of alcohol, regulated entertainment and late night refreshment for hot food and/or drink between 11pm-5am from premises in the Borough.

The Council is therefore now consulting on its revised policy which takes into account any changes in guidance and best practice since 2016, although no significant changes are proposed to the policy currently in force.

The Council would welcome views and comments on the draft policy which can be viewed on the Council’s website at https://www.broxbourne.gov.uk/community/consultations. The consultation period ends on Monday 5 July 2021. Comments can be emailed to licensing@broxbourne.gov.uk or forwarded in writing to the following address:
