Energy efficiency fund could help you save money on energy bills

Residents who are on a low income and live in a property with a low EPC rating should apply for the Sustainable Warmth Scheme before 31 December 2022.

The Council is encouraging residents who are on a low income and who live in a property with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating to apply for the Sustainable Warmth Scheme before 31 December 2022.

This Government funded scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding is available for homeowners, private tenants and people in social rented accommodation who live in a home where the EPC is rated E, F or G (D-rated homes can also be considered), and where there is a household income of less than £30,000 a year, or the resident is unemployed and in receipt of an income, health or disability benefit.

Those eligible will be able to benefit from a free home assessment, recommendation of suitable energy saving improvements and subsequent installation.

Energy saving improvements covered by this scheme include insulation and ventilation upgrades, upgrade to a low carbon heating system, heating controls, energy efficient hot water solution, solar thermals (keeps your house warm), solar PV (solar electricity panels), energy efficiency lighting (cheaper to run).
