Energy saving and efficiency schemes launch to help residents in the Borough

Two energy saving and efficiency schemes are live on the Council’s website to help Borough residents optimise the energy efficiency of their home, in turn reducing energy related costs.

Following a successful pilot earlier this year in selected areas of the Borough, the ECO4 Home Efficiency scheme has been extended Borough-wide to help eligible households reduce the cost of energy bills through the installation of energy efficiency solutions.

Energy efficiency upgrades available through this scheme includes cavity wall insulation, underfloor insulation, low carbon heating system, boiler upgrade and solar panels PV. The government-backed scheme runs in partnership with energy provider E.ON, and upgrades will be funded for those that meet the criteria.

Another energy support scheme which is currently available to local residents is the HUG2 grant for residents with off-grid gas heating systems who are most likely to be impacted by the high cost of energy bills. Upgrades available through the HUG2 scheme include insulation and ventilation, low heating carbon system, heating controls, energy efficient hot water solution, solar panels PV and energy efficient lighting.
