Local Council and PCC Election Nominations

Nominations are now closed for the Local Council and PCC Elections.

The nominations have now closed for the forthcoming Borough Council and the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections. You can view a list of candidates for both elections at www.broxbourne.gov.uk/elections

The Borough election is being contested by candidates from the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Green, Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition and UK Independence parties and an Independent candidate.

Polling day is Thursday 2 May and polling hours are from 7am to 10pm. The Borough Council election count will take place on Thursday 2 May and the PCC election count on Saturday 4 May.

Anyone who is not yet registered to vote at the election can do so by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by contacting the Council’s Elections Office.

The last day to register is Tuesday 16 April. Anyone who has recently received a poll card for the elections is already registered.

Electors who wish to vote by post at the election can do so by visiting  www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote or by contacting the Council’s Elections Office. The last day to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.

Electors who wish to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf can do so by visiting  www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote or by contacting the Council’s Elections Office. The last day to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.

In order to vote in person at an election, electors will need to provide a valid form of photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence. Full details of the accepted forms of photographic ID can be found by visiting www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id/accepted-forms-photo-id

Electors that do not have photographic ID can apply online for a free Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) by visiting  www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate or by contacting the Council’s Elections Office. The last day to apply for a VAC is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.
