Official opening of new social housing at High Leigh Garden Village

SettleParadigm has announced it has taken delivery of its latest social and affordable rent and shared ownership homes at High Leigh Garden Village in Hoddesdon, Broxbourne.

This brings the total number of SettleParadigm new homes at the development to 71 so far. Most recently, a combination of Homes England and Broxbourne Borough Council funding allowed SettleParadigm to designate an entire block at the site for social rent, which is roughly 50-60% of the private rent levels.

This combination of houses and flats, delivered across two phases of building, will provide new homes for people and families on the register who are most in need. It brings the number of SettleParadigm homes in Broxbourne to over 500, and with the possibility of more in coming years.

Martyn Jones, Executive Director of Development and Regeneration for SettleParadigm, said:

Our ability to provide even more affordable homes to this community is thanks to the extra funding we received from Broxbourne Borough Council and Homes England. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to provide so many new homes at the lower rent level. Social rent is now a core part of the government’s future plans for increasing social housing, and we’re hoping to be able to offer even more social rent homes in the future.

Councillor Corina Gander, Leader of Broxbourne Borough Council said:

The Council is delighted to be supporting this project, especially as it is well aligned with its corporate objective of delivering more affordable and high-quality homes for local residents, in turn helping to meet local housing demands.

New residents at High Leigh Garden Village for social and affordable rental homes are coming from nominations from Broxbourne Borough Council through the Council’s housing register. From there, eligible applicants can place bids on properties when they come in. Once the bidding cycle closes, the applicants with the highest housing need are nominated for properties.
