Another successful St George’s Family Fun Day in Cheshunt

The annual St George’s Day Family Fun Day took place at Grundy Park in Cheshunt on Saturday 25 April, with a range of activities and performances for all ages to enjoy.

An estimated 4,000 people visited the park throughout the day, once again solidifying the event’s position as a local favourite.

During the event, the public was treated to Bird of Prey demonstrations, Morris Dancing by ETC Morris Dancers, dance performances by Valle Academy and a re-enactment of the story of St George by Suffolk Swords.

Suffolk Swords also conducted a live archery performance and the traditional Punch and Judy puppet show did not disappoint with entertaining performances throughout the day. The puppet show was sponsored by TFC Waltham Cross.

A series of inflatables and funfair rides were on the ground to add to the diverse line up of activities, which also included free fitness and sports taster sessions at the Laura Trott Leisure Centre. Visitors could also engage with 35 stalls from local craftspeople and charities.

The next events organised by the Council are the Open Air Cinema event in Waltham Cross town centre on Tuesday 26 May, the Broxbourne Big Green Festival at Cedars Park on Sunday 7 June and the Open Air Cinema event in Hoddesdon town centre on Saturday 20 June as part of the Hoddesdon Midsummer Festival.
