The Waltham Cross High Street Car Park is open once again to the public after being closed since September 2024.
It re-opened on Friday 1 May 2026 after a 20-month closure to help facilitate the Waltham Cross Regeneration Project. During that time, motorists were redirected to park at the Eleanor Cross Car Park and The Pavilions Shopping Centre Car Park.
The car park was used by construction crews during the town centre’s regeneration project. The Waltham Cross Regeneration Project has provided more social spaces for visitors to enjoy, new bicycle stands, new lighting and street furniture, and has redesigned how motor vehicles pass through the area. These improvements began following a successful funding bid to the UK Government.
The car park also underwent essential resurfacing work before being re-opened to the public.
The improvements to the town centre are expected to encourage more visitors, generate new employment opportunities, promote private sector investment, and contribute to the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour.
